A playbook is not a collection of prompts. It is not a list of tools. It is not a set of guidelines. A playbook is an integrated system — a coherent set of workflows, templates, and practices that work together to produce consistently excellent PM outputs faster, more reliably, and at higher quality than working without AI assistance. It is the externalized version of your expertise: a document that captures your best current thinking on how to do your job well, so that it can be shared with your team, refined over time, and used as the foundation for continuous improvement.
The capstone structure mirrors the full product management workflow: discover → define → plan → communicate → measure. You will build a playbook artifact for each stage, informed by the course content you have internalized. You will demonstrate the playbook with a real end-to-end example. And you will design a team adoption plan that makes your personal playbook a team asset rather than a personal one. This is the output that differentiates a PM who has completed a course from a PM who has genuinely transformed their practice.
Building a comprehensive playbook in one sitting is not realistic — the capstone is designed to be your scaffold for ongoing development. The core components you build here are the durable structure; the details will accumulate with each sprint cycle, each discovery round, each stakeholder engagement. The goal of this capstone is to leave with a first version that is specific enough to use immediately, comprehensive enough to cover your entire PM workflow, and structured enough to grow with you as your AI capability deepens.
Define Your Personal AI-Assisted PM Workflow — Tools, Templates, and Processes
Before you can build a playbook, you need clarity on your current workflow: what you actually do, when you do it, what inputs you start with, and what outputs you produce. Tool stack selection should follow the workflow audit, not precede it. A common mistake in AI adoption is starting with "which tools should we use?" before establishing what the tools need to accomplish. After the workflow audit, you have a clear picture of your priority workflows and their requirements. For each priority workflow, assess which tools in your available stack best serve that workflow. Integration design is the mapping of how information flows between tools in your AI-assisted workflow. Designing the integrations means asking: how does output from tool A become input to tool B in the most frictionless way?
